BetMGM is one of the biggest brands in the gaming industry. It has a stellar reputation, great offerings in both the online casino and sports betting markets, and a lot of avid fans of its games.
BetMGM has been expanding its business very fast this year, with many new debuts and partnerships. For instance, BetMGM has managed to develop a partnership with Greentube for its debut in Michigan. And now, by collaborating with the Kansas City Chiefs, BetMGM has announced its debut in the sports betting industry of Kansas. Six operators have been granted licenses to provide their services, and the state's sports betting market went online on September 1, 2022.
BetMGM's Partnership with NFL
Ahead of the new season, BetMGM announced its collaboration with the National Football League's (NFL) Chiefs and made its debut in its 24th market in North America.
According to the deal, GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium will have BetMGM signage. With exclusive deals, game day opportunities, and rewards accessible to fans and season ticket holders, BetMGM material will be presented across the Chiefs' digital channels.
The Kansas City Chiefs are a perfect partner, according to Matt Prevost, chief revenue officer at BetMGM, because of their illustrious past and a very large fanbase. They plan on improving the game-day opportunities for Chiefs fans in the area when they launch their sports betting platform in Kansas.
With laws allowing both retail and mobile betting, the six licensed operators, BetMGM, FanDuel, Caesars, DraftKings, Barstool Sports, and PointsBet, can now open their sportsbooks in the state. One of the four operators working under a contract with Kansas Crossing Casino in Pittsburgh is BetMGM.
The chief executive of BetMGM, Adam Greenblatt, expressed confidence that sports bettors in the Sunflower State will appreciate the thrill of using their app. BetMGM expressed its respect to the Kansas Crossing Casino, Kansas Lottery, Kansas Racing, and Gaming Commission, for their excellent services.
Just three months after Senate Bill 84 was enacted, in the middle of August, Laura Kelly, the Governor of Kansas announced the launch date of the 1st of September. This legislation permits historical horse racing as well as sports betting on mobile applications, in casinos, and at other designated locations.
The legislation allows lottery facility managers to run sports betting in Kansas on behalf of the state lottery and calls for these managers to do so through collaborations with online sports betting providers.
Up to three interactive sports betting systems may be used by each lottery facility manager. Platforms that have been awarded contracts will go live in the near future, and operators will be given a one-year provisional licensing based on their prior performance in other states.
SB 84 also gives tribes a way to run sportsbooks, letting them negotiate an agreement with an already-existing or new gaming compact that works within this industry.
