LG Energy Solution (LGES) and General Motors (GM) have decided to convert the second factory of their joint venture, Ultium Cells, located in Spring Hill, Tennessee, from producing nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) ternary batteries to manufacturing lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries.
